Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye... if you leave, I won't cry. Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye... if you didn't ever mean those words, to you I'll never reply. Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye... if we never met, God would have saved my life.
"I am a king, born from God's lineage, I am royalty..."
This 'poetry slam' reminded me that I had forgotten that I was better than who my exboyfriend thought I was or who I made myself seem. You see, no one is ever gonna see me for the full person that I am except my myself. My exboyfriend damn sure as heck didn't appreciate nor accept me, well, I don't really expect anyone to, but I also know there will be people that weren't as cruel as him so I keep it pushing. This slam just shows that, even when times are at the roughest & most bitter climaxes, there's always going to be integrity, perseverance, & will left in an individual to keep moving forward. Well you see, I am that individual. So he knocked me down once, twice, three times... but that's it. Last night was his last stand, no standing ovations. He exited the stage in between his 'IDKS' & assumptions. For me, I was blessed because the heartache is over & I'm looking forward to tomorrow because tomorrow's another day.
Here's my 2nd blog. I strictly created this blog to be able to share more of my poetry & more of my favorite videos from Def Jam Poetry or spoken word in general with the blogging world. I hope that you enjoy & respect what is posted here, as well as my own responses & feedback. My interest in this subject is a beautiful thing to share so I hope that you do truly take interest in this as much as I do. Follow me & always look out for a post every hour or so. Thank you.

"They paint the perfect picture, raw like graffiti written hard on the walls of poverty filled streets but tasteful like a Leonardo Da Vinci masterpiece. Created by eloquence & colored by their desires, a love like theirs is like an eternal fire. Flawless they are not for they are ignorant & arrogant upon their own light, but their perfect picture always painted with grace is what makes them take flight. Beauty behold, it is incapacitating. Beauty behold, it is never demoralizing. They look each other & realize, this is by far the most encompassing feeling & leaves us a bit dazed like we're free-wheeling. It's inevitable they balance each other's lives & were meant to be. It's inevitable their love love is ripe & as deep as the blue seas. Yes, they paint the perfect picture, raw like graffiti written hard on the walls of poverty filled streets but tasteful like a Leonardo Da Vinci masterpiece."
